For work processes involving many people and
cross-organization such as contributing to a complete monthly financial forecast, you need the ability to assign work and follow up on progress status.
Our solution supports such work processes by providing workflow control and status tracking on progress. The default workflow consists of a few simple states for “Not Started”, “Started” and “Completed”. When completed the input is locked for input and ready for the next step in the process.
The status is tracked so that the administrator can follow the progress and issue reminders for those that are late in providing input. The solution also provides flexibility to create a robust process such as pre-fill the input so that the forecast is not dependent on all users providing input at every closing date.
Collaboration creates a new dimension to pulling a work process through. Especially since it provides the ad-hoc communication that may be essential to coordinate and clarify details and resolve dependencies. In general collaboration is provided by chat applications, where users can enter questions with mentions to address specific people and with notifications to users mentioned.
Profitbase takes these concepts into the work process and solution to ensure that the communication threads are within a limited context such as data subject area, organizational unit and time period. In addition, we provide the capability to snapshot the data view and provide a link to the application page so that the notified user can get to exactly the same application view before responding on a request for help.
