Jan De Jong
Worldwide Industry Executive | Retail & Hospitality Industries | Microsoft Corporation |
 As the worldwide industry executive, Jan De Jong is member of the executive team for the global coordination of Microsoft's line-of-business solutions in the retail and hospitality industries. De Jong coordinates global aspects of Microsoft's policies, strategies, objectives, and initiatives for retail and hospitality and focuses specifically on building strong customer and partner relationships for enterprise retail business solutions as well as the support for emerging markets in retail. He has been leading the development of the Smarter Retailing Initiative of Microsoft very successfully launched in January 2004.
De Jong is member of the Board of Directors of the National Retail Federation (NRF) representing the associate members.
De Jong has more than 30 years of experience in systems development, international project management and consulting of technology business solutions for the retail industry. Prior to joining as General Manager for the Retail Industry Solutions Group in the US for Microsoft, De Jong was Vice President of Information Technology for Virgin Entertainment Group, an operating company that oversees the Virgin Megastores as well as the continuing expansion of the Virgin brand throughout North America. He was responsible for developing systems and strategies to help operate and manage customer demand at Virgin Megastores. |

Richard E. Mader
Executive Director of ARTS of the NRF |
 Mr. Mader is the Executive Director of the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) a division of the National Retail Federation (NRF). ARTS was founded 14 years ago to speed the implementation of technology in retail at reduced costs through standards. Mr. Mader was a founding member and volunteer chairman before becoming executive director in 1999 when ARTS became a division of National Retail Federation (NRF).
Mr. Mader has over 30 years in retail information management, progressing from developer to serve as SR VP and CIO for Boscov's and Bon-Ton Department Stores, and Director of Corporate Systems for Federated (Macy's) Department Stores. Mr. Mader is recognized as a leader in Retail Information throughout the world. He has made presentations at Retail conferences in the U.S., South Africa, Europe, UK, and Japan. He was a member of the Information Technology Council of the National Retail Federation (NRF) for 15 years. |

 As the retail industry technical strategist for Microsoft's Worldwide Retail Industry unit, Willem Haring helps define and communicate Microsoft's global strategy and positioning in retail to Microsoft's global managed partners, field, product teams, customers, industry analysts and industry-specific conferences and publications. Willem also incorporates feedback from these same groups to assure Microsoft solutions address key issues in the retail space including standards support, security regulations, and industry pain-points.
